I joined Scopelitis, Garvin, Light, Hanson & Feary in 1990 after being with a private firm of fifty attorneys in Phoenix, Arizona. After about two years in Phoenix, I decided to come back to Indianapolis to practice. As a lateral hire, I had experienced another private law firm and practice in another area of the country, and I had learned other "bits of information" from my peers practicing with other firms, with corporations, and with the government. That background helped me to more quickly grasp and truly appreciate the uniqueness of the firm environment and atmosphere at SGLH&F. The people at SGLH&F make the difference, and the firm's philosophy of inclusiveness and open management is empowering, inviting and creates a dynamic work atmosphere. We spend a lot of time with our colleagues, and so it is important to enjoy their company and share their philosophy about the practice. We all realize that here, and it shows. If you don't believe me, ask any of our law clerks, attorneys or staff members - they will all be easy to find because we have very little turnover! |
