Ms. Trenner concentrates her practice in the areas of transportation insurance and the defense of independent contractor status in the workers' compensation and unemployment taxation contexts.
Rebecca S. (“Becky”) Trenner regularly defends motor carrier clients' interests concerning state unemployment agency efforts to reclassify owner-operators as a motor carrier's employees for benefit compensation and taxation purposes. Ms. Trenner has also assisted in advising motor carrier and insurer clients on regulatory issues including agent and third-party administrator licensing, determining the independent contractor status of owner-operators for workers’ compensation purposes and state requirements for obtaining self-insurance authority for intrastate operations.
Ms. Trenner graduated from Valparaiso University (B.S.) and Valparaiso University School of Law (J.D.).
Admitted to the Indiana bar in 2002, Ms. Trenner is licensed to practice before all Indiana state and federal courts. She is a member of the Indianapolis and Indiana State Bar Associations.
