Director of Business Development
Ms. Smith is the firm's Director of Business Development. Her responsibilities include development of attorney's practice areas and firm-wide business initiatives.
Allison O. Smith assists the attorneys in the Indianapolis, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Chattanooga, Detroit, and Kansas City offices of the Scopelitis firm in developing ideas and skills to enhance their individual practices. She also creates and implements marketing initiatives designed to communicate the broad range of services offered by the firm that are available to the transportation industry. Ms. Smith was the recipient of the Indianapolis Bar Association’s Young Lawyer of the Year Award in 1999.
Ms. Smith graduated from the University of Colorado-Boulder (B.A.) with a degree in Oriental Languages and Literature and the Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis (J.D.) where she served as a notes editor on the Indiana International and Comparative Law Review.
Admitted to the Indiana bar in 1996, Ms. Smith is licensed to practice before all Indiana state and federal courts. She is an active member of the local legal community where she has chaired and served on several committees. She is an Indianapolis Bar Foundation Distinguished Fellow and served for six years on the Board of Directors of the Indianapolis Bar Foundation.
