

Mr. Cooper concentrates on the defense of complex workers' compensation cases. He also consults with clients on a wide range of risk management issues.

Gerald F. Cooper, Jr. is a partner who focuses his practice on complex workers’ compensation litigation. His many years of experience include the defense of employee-independent contractor issues and diverse medical issues, including heart attack and stroke. Mr. Cooper serves as General Counsel of the Illinois Trucking Association. Mr. Cooper is a Past President and a current Director of the Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Association. He is Ex- Chair of the Illinois State Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Section Council. He is also a Legal Technical Advisor to the Minority Leader of the Illinois House of Representatives. Mr. Cooper is a member of the Illinois Self-Insurers Advisory Board. Mr. Cooper is a charter member, and serves on the advisory board of Leading Lawyers of Illinois and has been selected as one of the top Illinois lawyers in the Illinois Super Lawyers Peer Survey Selection.

Mr. Cooper graduated from Miami University (A.B.) and DePaul University (J.D.).

Admitted to practice in Illinois in 1984, Ohio (1980), and Florida (1981), Mr. Cooper is a member of the Illinois Self-Insurance Advisory Board, the Illinois Trucking Association Board of Directors, the Federalist Society, the Illinois State Bar Association.
