

Mr. Brejcha focuses his practice on civil litigation, predominantly representing for-hire and private motor carriers, brokers and freight-forwarders.

William D. Brejcha, a partner with the firm, has counseled members of the transportation industry for over 30 years. Previously, he served as Defense Counsel and Chief Defense Counsel with the U.S. Army, 101st Airborne Division from 1974 to 1977 and continued his military service on a part-time basis with the Illinois Army National Guard until he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1994. Mr. Brejcha has been the Editor of the Illinois State Bar Association's Public Utilities and Transportation Law section Newsletter since 1992 and was Chair of the section in both 1995-96 and 2000-01. He presently serves as Transportation Counsel to the Illinois Transportation Association (ITA) and has been a regular columnist in the ITA's Illinois Truck News magazine and the Transportation Intermediaries Association magazine Professional Broker.

Mr. Brejcha graduated from the University of Notre Dame (B.A., cum laude) and Loyola University of Chicago (J.D.), where he was an Editor of Loyola's Law Journal.

Admitted to the Illinois bar in 1973 and the U.S. Court of Military Appeals in 1974, Mr. Brejcha is licensed to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He has been a member of the Illinois Bar Association Public Utilities and Transportation Law section since 1990.
