

Mr. Smedstad focuses his practice on litigation of commercial and business disputes

Adam C. Smedstad has extensive experience litigating a broad range of commercial disputes, including commercial contracts, business torts, non-competition, trademark infringement, trade secret litigation, patent infringement, secured transactions and products liability. In addition, he has experience defending commercial and securities class actions as well as obtaining and defending against temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions. As an adjunct to his practice in state and federal courts, Mr. Smedstad also appears regularly before administrative agencies and arbitrators in commercial and business matters.

Mr. Smedstad graduated from the University of Chicago (B.A.) and The George Washington University Law School (J.D. High Honors) where he served as the managing editor of The George Washington Law Review.

Admitted to the Illinois bar in 1992, Mr. Smedstad is licensed to practice before all Illinois state and federal courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. He is a member of the Trial Bar of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
