

Ms. Jeffries practices primarily in the areas of business litigation, contracts and general transportation law, including cargo loss and damage claims and freight charge collections actions.

Kathleen C. Jeffries is a partner in the firm with over 26 years of litigation, administrative, transactional, and advisory experience in transportation and general business law. With an emphasis on freight claim and freight charge litigation, she represents motor, rail and air freight carriers, freight forwarders, property brokers and a variety of shippers, among others, in civil and transportation-related misdemeanor criminal litigation, regulatory proceedings, contract development and general business counsel. She is past president of the Transportation Lawyers Association and is a recipient of the organization’s Distinguished Service Award.

Ms. Jeffries graduated from California State University at Long Beach (B.A.) and the University of California at Los Angeles (J.D.).

Admitted to the California Bar in 1983, Ms. Jeffries is licensed to practice before the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the Ninth and District of Columbia Circuits and all California state and federal courts. She is a member of the California Bar Association as well as the Transportation Lawyers Association (President, 2004-2005; Executive Committee Member, 1998-present; Chair, Freight Claims Committee, 1995-2000); Federal Bar Association; and Conference of Freight Counsel.
