In the last several years, mediation has become the preferred method of resolving disputes that would otherwise be litigated to conclusion. Although not all cases can be settled by mediation and many must be tried, mediation has proven to be an effective method of alternative dispute resolution. There is strong statistical evidence that the vast majority of cases that are mediated do in fact settle.
The Scopelitis firm has certified mediators registered with the Indiana Supreme Court Commission for Continuing Legal Education. Offering mediation services in both civil litigation and domestic relations disputes, our mediators recognize that, although compromise can be difficult to accept, a mediated dispute often prevents the far more unsettling and costly prospect of litigation. Moreover, mediated resolution of a dispute permits the parties to avoid the uncertainties of litigation and the risk of an adverse or otherwise disappointing result at trial.
Our experience with transportation issues lends itself to the effective provision of mediation services in all cases involving highway accidents. Most particularly, our experience in litigating catastrophic highway accident cases involving trucks and buses has put us in a unique position for mediating such cases. Our certified mediators are available to provide mediation services in Indiana or, if need be, to travel to other parts of the country to mediate accident litigation cases wherever they may arise.
