Jeffrey S. Jackson
Mr. Jackson’s practice is devoted to counseling all manner of transportation entities on a wide variety of legal issues affecting their operations. He focuses his practice on providing clients with guidance on independent contractor status defense issues and the overall protection of the owner-operator model (with a specific emphasis on workers’ compensation-related disputes – e.g., workers’ compensation insurer policy audits, premium disputes, etc.), federal and state regulatory compliance concerns, contract drafting and negotiation issues (with a specific emphasis on transportation contracts), and issues involving operational structure.
Jeffrey S. Jackson regularly counsels clients with respect to federal and state regulatory concerns, especially as they relate to licensing, authorities, and overall compliance obligations. He also drafts, reviews and negotiates transportation and logistics related contracts on a daily basis. In his dealings with clients he is frequently asked to provide advice related to independent contractor owner-operator classification issues and risk mitigation.
