R. Jay Taylor, Jr., Partner

Practice Concentration

Mr. Taylor represents motor carriers, forwarders, logistics companies, and transportation industry associations in state and federal courts around the country, primarily in complex litigation and appeals.

Profile

Jay Taylor is one of the partners coordinating the efforts of the Firm's complex litigation group, which has defended the Firm's transportation clients in hundreds of class actions, collective actions, and complex multi-party cases throughout the United States. In addition to navigating clients through these risky and difficult cases, which frequently involve state and federal labor and employment laws, Mr. Taylor and the group help clients audit their practices to reduce their risk exposure to wage and hour challenges. Mr. Taylor and his fellow complex litigation team members regularly share their knowledge and experience as speakers at transportation industry events around the country. He also leads the firm's appellate litigation efforts, and frequently helps trade associations weigh in as amici curiae, or "friends of the court," with respect to issues important to the transportation industry. Mr. Taylor previously served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Patrick D. Sullivan and the Honorable L. Mark Bailey of the Indiana Court of Appeals.
