Timothy W. Cochren
Mr. Cochren’s practice serves clients on a wide array of legal issues affecting the transportation industry including regulatory compliance; transportation related tax issues; acquisitions; transportation contracts, owner/operator and independent contractor issues; equipment leasing; third-party logistics; warehousing; IRP, IFTA, and DOT issues; and state titling and registration laws. Mr. Cochren also counsels clients on various employee benefit issues.
While in law school Timothy W. Cochren served as Symposium Editor of the Indiana Law Review organizing the 2015 Symposium “Liability, Rights and Remedies in Toxic Torts: Local, National and International Responses in the Age of Globalization”.
- Transportation Brief: Federal Courts Split on Applicability of Federal Preemption in Negligent Hiring ClaimsIn Autumn 2018, the Firm analyzed two federal court decisions that held the FAAA preempted the plaintiffs’ negligent selection claims against a broker. Since then, three additional federal district courts have addressed this issue as the law surrounding broker liability continues to develop.
